Although it hasn’t quite felt like winter yet, we’ve had our share of cold days in New York, and I was lucky to escape them for a week while working in Miami with the wonderful dancers selected for this year’s YoungArts program, of which I am a graduate. My experience there — and the honor of meeting dance legend Bill T. Jones — served as the subject for a special blog post that I wrote for the organization. I’ll be returning to Miami to work with another group of dancers at the end of February.
I’m excited to announce a busy performance schedule, which begins next month with two great tap events: a tap jam at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA, which I’ll be co-hosting with tap luminary Barbara Duffy along with a live jazz trio, and the premiere of a new duet with longtime friend and teacher Kelly Kaleta, which will take place in the New Tap Choreography Showcase at the American Tap Dance Center in NYC!
Please check my Schedule page for more information. Soon, I’ll be announcing spring shows, as well as updating the site with a blog of some of my freelance journalism work this year!
In rhythm,
Ryan
